If you want to continue your education, it’s likely that you’ll need a high school diploma or a GED. At Broward Community Schools we can help you learn more about your options and we’ll even help you attain a GED. You can attend some schools without one, but you may be limited in your options. Here’s what you need to know.
Ways to Attend School Without a GED or Diploma
Some schools and programs do not require a high school diploma or GED. These will let you enroll even without the equivalent of a high school education. This can apply to some vocational and trade schools as well. If you do some research, you may be able to find educational opportunities in your area that don’t require a diploma or GED.
There are also individual classes that you might be able to take. While these would not be complete programs, they could later be counted if you were to enroll in school full- or part-time.
Finally, some schools allow learners with some high school education to enroll even if they do not have their diploma. Usually these are students who have been out of school for a few years and are referred to as “nontraditional learners.”
Getting Your GED
If you find that your options are limited, then seriously consider getting your GED. A GED can open the door to a variety of educational opportunities, so it’s a wise idea to take the test whether you’re thinking about community college, trade school or four-year college.
Our GED classes can teach you everything you need to know about each subject area of the test. We’ll make sure that you have the skills and knowledge that you need to pass the test with flying colors!
